“It takes a great deal of history to produce a little literature.” Hawthorne
M. H. Collins writes award-winning, nonfiction regional history books. Two of her books are about Rogers, Arkansas. Her most recent book, Rogers, Arkansas, is a pictorial of this town founded in 1881. Rogers: The Town the Frisco Built is a narrative story about the lives of people who played a part in the town’s history through the years.
“Although Rogers was founded in 1881, the history of this corner of Arkansas goes back well before the Civil War. This history is filled with interesting people, significant events, and fascination stories.” Dr. Gaye Bland, Rogers Museum Director.
Collins’s passion is the preservation of stories from the lives of people found in towns everywhere–both small and metropolitan. Each story is unique.
Her blogs writelocalhistory.wordpress.com/ and mhcollins.com as well as her upcoming, Write History Right,* a how-to book for writing history, offer a practical, step-by-step guide to recording the history of your town, church, organization, or family.
